Drug Awareness

Shelby County Drug Free Coalition

The Shelby County Drug Free Coalition was established in 1990 with a mission to provide an organization through which community members can develop, plan, and implement comprehensive efforts to address substance abuse issues. The Coalition is made up of concerned citizens, school staff, law enforcement agents, doctors, nurses, faith-based leaders, community leaders, social service providers, and a variety of others representing a broad base of community agencies.

The primary function of the Coalition is to research community substance abuse problems, develop action plans to address the problems, and implement or support the implementation of strategies which lead to change.
